First of all, I should make it clear that we do not develop in VFP alone. We also use MS Access and VB. And yes, we even use COBOL and PL/1 to help resolve the Y2K probelms.
The point I am making is that 3 years ago, Microsoft said that VFP is an important part of their toolset. They also said at the DevCon in Phoenix that they would:
a. educate the other product managers about the benefits and features of VFp
b. market the product more.
Except for one video tape produced for that DevCon, I have not seen them live up to that promise. Their product managers, specifically the Visual Studio team, still do not give VFP the equal billing it deserves.
It is the developer community that is expected to market VFP.
