Hello:

Is there any alternative besides LIKE and SOUNDEX in Fox Pro?
I need something that can tell me that "John Smith" and "Jonh Smith" are the same but can tell apart "David Gates" and "David Gatz" or something like that...Is there any way I can approach this? What i need to step over are the typos that people usually make when writing a name...like interchanging letters or adding one or not adding another...

Any help is appreciated...

BTW, i tried Soundex, but even when equaling it to 4, it still brings up many unrelated records...
