The real problem with the 17" Vaio is that the battery doesn't last very long (1.5-2 hours on my machine) without a slot for a second battery. The other issue is that the display is like a mirror, which is great in office like environments, but distracts a lot when light is shining onto the screen from the wrong position (at least it gives you the confidence to look right in meetings without checking in a restroom before <g>).
