I personaly think it's stupid that Microsoft has two products like that available next to each other. A combination of the two would be the most efficient of all. At Devcon it seemed that this war between VB and VFP is not just externally but also internally, I think if both teams (VFP and VB) would work together on one universal language, that they would have a product that kicked ass.
The reasoning behind VB in general is not just VB by the way it is also WORD, EXCELL and ACCESS that use the same language. The thing that frustrates me most about all this, is that the VFP developers at Microsoft focus on things as Builders, instead of working on stuff that is really important like a OO-Reports and Menus. And all features all the other languages already support (intellisense, ... )
At Devcon Florida everybody was pushing VFP in the direction of the Middle-Tier, like everybody is suddenly writing 3-Tier applications ????
