You can specify an email address to receive fax confirmation messages. The messages include time of transmission, number of attempts, etc. Most of these services will retry a specific number of times before they give up.

I don't know if there's a web interface for checking the status of your sent faxes. If you talk to the vendor and learn of one, would you post back what you learn?
