What context are you speaking of? Are you asking what the literal meaning of 'Ad-Hoc' is? Or are you thinking of something more specific?

The reason I ask is that there is no specific definition of an 'Ad-Hoc' query, other than the literal meaning of a query that is not intended to be a permanent part of a system/process/application.
