Why it have to resemble getfile() since you
are NOT gonna let user explore directory structure finding file,
limiting him in one directory only?

Why don't u simple collect all files from that particular directory into a cursor , sort it as u pleased, and offer user to select one of existing files via ordinary grid or listbox ?

You can put nice bitmap(s) to resemble newest W2000/XP design paterns
as background to yr form, one field to punch name of (new) file name,
two buttons for select / cancel and that is it.
