I once had someone ask me if I was a software developer or just a programmer. It seems everyone has their own idea what programmer, systems/analyst, applications developer, programmer/analyst, and software engineer (among others) means. Especially those not in the IT field!
>>Hi Greg,
>>
>>>I have been referred to as SDE or Software Design Engineer. But all I am is a programmer (code jockey).
>>
>>Programmer sounds good to me <s>.
>
>And I don't even like the word "developer". It doesn't really stink - the fixer may, sometimes, but the developer is usually a modest solution.
>
>IOW, I think the word "developer" should stay confined to the photographic laboratory.
