I've sorted it thanks. I'm using Cryptor 5.0 and yes, it does work with VFP9. The problem was resolved, or bypassed, by making sure that I only create the object and register the file once - I preferred to register it every time it was opened, so I knew the data could only be accessed in specific circs, but I wasn't re-opening the file every time the report went to top of page, so I don't know why it failed when going to top of page after page 1. Now I just have to test on a 2Gb file and unregister in every place that I don't want the file accessed.

The Xitech number you give is the one on their web site, but no-one ever answers, there isn't an answer message either. Despite getting Cryptor working, I'll think seriously about switching to Netlib if this product takes off - at least they respond to emails.
