Yes it does. Although, I think "Ehrfürchtig" is even more than "awesome".

The translation is correct, But I think awesome can be used like "great", "Phantastic", without addressing a person, correct? whilst "ehrfürchtig" means "awesome" in the traditional meaning (towards a person).
