No, using a vfp mtdll is the best approach IMHO. You could try the stub dll approach where the app logic you're likely to change is called outside of the stub dll so it's never locked. ActiveVFP works like that, I believe. Thanks for your info regarding SQL Authentication. Looks like the only time it's required to use a COM+ app is when dbfs are being accessed across the network from IIS.
