There would be hearings. Everyone would want to know who made such an assinine decision. Yep, those rearview mirrors are just terrific.

NOAA is good at what they do. They predicted very accurately. We know from experience what that storm would do. Just look at Camille, or Betsy, or Andrew, Ivan or any of the other big ones. If not New Orleans or Gulfport it could have been Pensacola. Same difference. NOLA is worse because of the levee situation. Prepositioning and preparedness was a must no matter where it hit. It was a big and nasty storm.
