You submit the fax and get back a job ID. The fax is added to the queue and send when a line is available. Once the fax is sent, you can use the job id to query the status.

Windows 2003 can also send an e-mail with the status after it sent the fax.

I don't know. There's probably a limit for the number of fax devices that a server supports.
