Definitely getting off-topic < s >

I have no problem with things like government bail-outs of Chyrsler, and that sort of thing. Because, as you say, the jobs involved are important to THE PEOPLE.

But I have a huge problem with the way business has taken over and gone wild since the cold war ended.
They effectively run the government!
They have (most, and the remainder getting there fast) set themselves up to APPEAR to be adhering to "capitalism" while really manipulating the "marketplace" to maximize profits.
They've stopped doing the "overhead" parts of their responsibilities and expect government to give them free money to address those parts of their business.
Government has sanctioned - because business told them to - the relocation of work to third-world countries to exploit the poor while their leaders get rich.

Let business take care of itself and let government assure the development and safety and comfort and freedom of THE PEOPLE.
Then maybe government might put reasonable constraints on all the relocation happening.
Then government might tell the businesses to ensure that their overheads are included in their own expenses.
Business is so out of control and government so beholden to them, that THE PEOPLE are noise needing periodic placation but otherwise stay ignored.
How do you feel about the "globalization levelling effect" actually dragging the U.S. (and Canada and Europe...) DOWN to the level of, say Albania or Azerbaijan?????

>>Some, like me, see basically the reverse. Corporations/business can take care of themselves and let's have government take care of THE PEOPLE.

>Well if companies like Chrysler go out of business, what happens to the people who loose their job and what happens to the economy? All in all, haven't Chrysler done pretty well since? Maybe, maybe not but more people are working because of the bailout. Trying to save people's lively hood and maybe the economy, isn't that helping "THE PEOPLE"?

>>You don't really think that you went to war in Iraq for "the people", do you?
>In case you do, let me clarify for you that it was done for oil, big business and future flexing (for more oil and more big business).

>Ok. I respect you opinion.
