Thanks, that was the solution. I get the changed username (after rebooting the computer). Some minor problems, though (probably that is why it is somewhat hidden...):
I notice that the location of "My Documents" doesn't change - I assume that has to be changed separately.
Also, on one machine I got an error message, that the username could not be the same as the machine name. I don't understand why there would be such a restriction.
