Technically, you shouldn't have transactions that require user intervention to finish. Especially on Citrix, as you've found out. If no intervention is required, even if the user gets disconnected, the transaction will complete and release the lock.

But the citrix user believes all is well (although they are waiting for a transaction to complete) because they can see the program on the screen.
