Without a more specific error message from why SQL didn't like it it's going to be hard to track down.

I just thought that perhaps this month you ended up with more activity than before and it might have filled the transaction log. If you can get to the SQL Server event logs you can see if this has happened or not, then check to see if its size is too small or it's not set to appropriately grow as needed.
