I appologize for the tone of the message. It was not my intention to insult (as stated at the beginning). The intention was to draw a picture how many europeans look towards america. Not that they are jealous or have something from the past against the US, but more because there are things in the US we just don't identify ourselves with.

Well, I guess that depends on which area you live in. Europe is a big place with a lot of differences in culture. One thing I've heard from americans frequently is that in europe people are less 'fake'. I'm not sure how to explain this, but maybe 'down to earth' is a better word.

But from the times I've been in the US, I've experienced friendly people as well, but I general I don't have any problem with anyone, whether it is an american or european.
