VFP uses foxuser to store all kinds of stuff and it's likely to want to store that info at times you might not exect. If the dbf is in the project it's readonly and VFP will joke. Keeping a default version of foxuser.dbf, under a different name, in the exe and copying it out when needed should work fine.
