Hmmm....you raise a good question. Actually, soon I'm going to work on a report where I'm going to need to do that - capture the page count, where the report is generated directly to an output device without being previewed. Maybe there's a way in the report object model - I'll check it out and I'll let you know if I can find anything (unless someone comes in before that with an answer)
