Do you have printers connected to lpt ports or have you mapped a printer to an lpt port on the new Dell for Dos Foxpro to use? Also check the LPT Timeout setting in the registry and change it to fewer seconds...
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet
\Control
\WOW
\LPT_timeout
which defines how many seconds after the LPT port has been used that Windows waits before closing the port and flushing the output. This value could be needed for adjusting the timeout when printing from MS-DOS-based applications. Change it to 1.
>Hi, I have an application written in FoxPro for DOS ( still going...)
>Application works fine, but I put it on a new Dell PC and I cannot print anymore.
>I am using Windows XP Pro and FPD 2.6. It worked fine before on another PC, a little bit slow printing, but it worked.
>Any ideas? Maybe some settings in WinXP?
>TIA
