Hi,
Is the Administrator logged in locally at the console.?

>Win2000 Server SP4 all patches upto date.

>We've been using the Task Scheduler to processes on the box for 6 years now, every once in a blue moon this would happen but it wouldn't happen twice in a row.

>Now since the latest patches went out a couple of weeks ago the exe will not run at all. The scheduler show a status of Running... but the program is absolutely not running! I can tell this because one first things it does is to open a status log on a network drive and starts logging progress information into it.

>The scheduler log show the task start and abnormal termination of it when we rightlick the "running" task and choose end task. The task does not show up in taskman so there is no way to terminate it from there, and there's no window for the launched task to close and shutdown "normally".
