One of the VB programmers asked me a question and I have no idea. There is an application written in FPW2.6. We are currently producing the next version which will be VB5.0 and SQL 6.5 (maybe 7.0)(None of it is my idea). The problem is that this will be a gradual migration. We are running into a problem with an ODBC connection to the foxpro tables. The VB modules are writting data to SQL Server and write back to the Foxpro Tables. The foxpro tables are the main data set. We have a process that sweeps the FoxPro tables and moves any editted records into SQL Server. If a record change is made from the VB app, the SQL and Foxpro tables need to be updated. In a single user environment this is no problem. If the foxpro table is opened Shared in foxpro (No locks of any kind), and the VB app attempts to insert a record, an error is returned (Unable to open table).
Are there any parameters that should be set in the connection string? Is there any documentation on it, if so, where?
Thanx
