This is taken directly from the 'What's new in Visual Studio 6.0' Section on the following site:
http://www.microsoft.com/vstudio/prodinfo/newinvs6/"Visual FoxPro 6.0 database development system, for building
workgroup database applications and developing components using the
XBASE language." (bold emphasis placed by me)
From this it sounds as if VFP is really FoxPro 2.6, other than the minor reference to components. No mention of client-server, no mention of middle tier (but VB has these references). The continued reference to Xbase without any mention of OOP counters the open letter to the FoxPro community that MS posted a while back.
How can we be expected to effectively sell VFP 6.0 to management for new projects if MS doesn't even mention it favorably (or accurately)? VFP is also placed at the bottom of the language list, as if to show its priority in the toolset.
