You are very close to the very fine line. On one side is "description" and on the other "bias." I agree that your example is the toughest so far to debate either way successfully. I want to ask why do you need to say "black" at all? Just say, "Make sure that man..." but I can see a situation where there are a group of people in line, and that would be a valid way to describe to someone who you are talking about. I think the issue comes up when the description is unnecessary, and the term "black" is used when it wasn't needed. This would show bias on the part of the person speaking. Good example though...
