When I was a kid we did the Pledge of Allegiance in public school.
I remember that the Jehova's Witnesses would sit through it the first year or two, later they were allowed (told?) to leave the room before it started.

I'm not able to reliably remember the words, but I don't remember God being in there. Ours was somewhat different than yours.

I don't think they still do it in public school, but I could be wrong.
