Glad you agree on the general point.

But I see it diferently as regards "their" (politicians, corporation leaders) job to push this stuff.

First, they throw honesty and truth and accuracy and social consideration overboard in doing so.
Politicians for sure should have societal benefits first and foremost, and frankly so should corporate leaders.

When, in the name of profits ever-growing, all work that can be done in China is done in China and we are left here with menial jobs and for only a small percentage of our population, they will see what they have sown.
But they are counting on China and India to become replacement markets, so they don't really care. They'll be sitting on more money than they can ever spend anyways, so if it doesn't pan out, no big deal to them.
