It is not good to put in activate event, since the refresh will be running every time in the control's being activated... it may mean a lot of load on the system...

You should see when the need to refresh came, append a record? if so, why not in the command button's click event?! if it is a record gathering, why not add a custom method in the form & refresh the grid after getting the records?! if it is a timer event, why not in timer's refresh event?!

I do have trouble on activate events, especially you have some client machine not in good conditions... and it'll keep you awake all night...
