With one customer the secure connection is accomplished using a VPN so everything is transparent to the application and the connect() method works fine. I'm assuming this is just a wrapper for the Winsock connect() function (and all its necessary predecessors). In any event, it works fine with the VPN and I can easily send/receive raw text all day long.

Bottom line, I'm ready to go fishing/surfing/running/drinking.
