Russ,

>On Friday, September 16, 2005, Drew Speedie and his son, Brent, fell a few hundred feet to their deaths from a bridge in Yellowstone Park...

Unbelievable and so very sad for so many people. I just returned home from a weekend hiking trip with my son to find this terrible news about Drew and Brent. Although I knew Drew pretty well, I probably knew Brent even better, because he was so sociable at the conferences he attended with Drew and Irene.

My wife, son and I all have great memories of interacting with Brent over the years, especially last year at the German DevCon. We are all deeply saddened by the news and wish we could put our arms around Irene right now.

One of my favorite memories of Drew and Brent is at a conference a few years ago, where Drew was presenting a vendor session about MaxFrame. At one point, he asked Brent to demonstrate just how easy it was to create a data-entry form with the framework. Their banter back and forth about how Brent caught so many of his father's bugs was priceless.

Russ, please convey our warmest thoughts to Irene and let us know how we can participate in some fitting tribute to them -- public or private, including an appropriate place to send contributions in their memory.
