Not sure if its applicable, but i have a VERY OLD version of installshield express and someone report a similar problem. They then told me that they had mucked w/ a windows temp folder setting and had entered in an invalid character value to the variable. Thats just one example, but the MSFTKB has other examples of the temp folder being a problem.

>I'm using InstallShield Express for Visual FoxPro 9 Limited Edition and have really had no problems with it over the last 3 or 4 years (older version of InstallShield, that is). However, I am getting an error when attempting to test install the next version of a client's software. I burn a CD and try the installation and I get an error that says InstallShield was "interrupted" prior to completing the installation. There is no information about what caused the interruption (we should all learn from these worthless error messages and not do the same thing to our clients). I've gone over the setup and nothing seems different from previous versions except for the choice of some newer redistributable files. I can't offer much in the way of clues in this post because InstallShield hasn't offered me anything, however I'm hoping someone can offer some assistance here. Perhaps there's an installation log file I'm unaware of that might offer clues? Please note that I've tried this with my
