There are a lot of scenarios and something like that is reasonable (similar things certainly crossed my mind), but it's not going to go any good to speculate. Odd things happen and it could be anything from something you mention to a bizarre accident to foul play. But when there are no eyewitnesses or evidence, what's the point of speculation? The thing that should be focused on is any way in which we could support his wife, who I'm sure is traumatized. I didn't know them, but I hope those that did can communicate to her that Drew's contributions will be greatly missed. One thing I've been glad to see here is people mentioning what a good relationship Drew and Brent had. What do you (third person "you") think God was interested in when they showed up at the pearly gates? What programming language he preferred? What conferences he attended? No, it was the truly important things like his relationship with his son and how he treated others (a number of people mentioned he always had time for people at the conferences). May we all be able to be remembered in such a positive light.

>I have a theory... I have no evidence for this but if you rule out some sort of deliberate act, I don't know what else is left.

>Here's what I suspect: Brent tried to take a "cool" photo shot by climbing into a dangerous position on the railing, and slipped. He caught himself but was in a precarious position. Drew followed him trying to save Brent and they both fell.

>It's possible. I can't imagine Drew not trying to save Brent in this circumstance. It's what I'd do...
