>>>Ahhh... It's not like they can control whether you use it or not, just want to try and get revenue for using the airwaves. Cool, thanks!

>>Don't ya just love this kind of crap though... when "they" set out to get you, here's a tailor-made violation. Who knows if it has implications with the Patriot Act?!?!

>Not sure I get what you mean. Meaning they are going to come and breakdown the door of the mom and her daughter for using the walkie-talkies without getting the license? Tongue-in-cheek on that, but I think that's what you mean.

Almost. If they break down your door for some reason, here's a clear violation that gives "them" some ammunition. And if it has Patriot Act implications, you could even disappear for some time.

My point is that government should not be involved in scam-like situations.
You've attributed this little thing to an attempt by the government, the FCC in this case, to squeeze some money out of you. Kinda like scam artists who send phoney invoices to large corporations in hopes of getting a payment.

Given that government should not be involved in such things it begs the question - to me anyway - 'why is this stipulation there?'. Since 'hoping to get some $$$' is wrong for governments, it must be some other reason. What could that reason be?

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they aren't out to get me < s >.
