I have two columns in a spreadsheet. The 1st contains text with two dates. The 2nd contains the formula =RIGHT(A1,5) in order to extract out the rightmost date. Problem is that I am unable to format the 2nd column to contain an actual date. If I type in "8/23" then it will display as "08/23/2005" but not with the formula.
