I was finally diagnosed as acute bi-polar two years ago, but I'm convinced I've suffered with this illness since I was in my teens. My doctors put me on lithium and risperdal, and I'm actually fairly stable now. I can't tell you how many jobs I've lost and relationships have been destroyed because of my illness. Stay on the meds--as you probably know by now going off them can be disastrous. I, too, went off them during hypomania and nearly landed in the hospital. With time you can control this illness and lead a very productive life.

Sorry to hear about your job at Microsoft, but I suspect they are not on the up and up, especially where VFP is concerned. Once they've raped the technology, it will be phased out.
