Thanks for your reply.Until I read your post I couldn't see the forest because of all the trees (or however that saying goes). It was very simple. I overrode (past tense of override) the OnMouseMove event handler and used SetToolTip to change the tooltip text. It works beautifully and the display has no problems keeping up with me.
