Almost all scientists who adhere theories that conflict with the idea of an almighty God, choose for science and come to the conclusion that there is no such God. However, some of them can't help but still believe in Something. But almost never they are fundies, indeed.
One note here: I think that fundies actually ARE smart, in a sense! They must have done a lot of irrational reasoning in order to become a fundy. :)
