Rod,
No, I don't think you are a scorned prophet. As long as it doesn't involve the dreaded Remote View(!) I believe you assemble evidence for peers' consideration and try to discuss points for mutual benefit. I particularly enjoyed your response regarding dotNET performance. That's as close to a compliment as you'll get!
But there are certain others here who seem unable to see the blindingly obvious until MS announces it. I was wondering whether one of these experts might pull a "see, told you so!" prophet act about LINQ for my amusement, but it seems I will be disappointed.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
