I've done programming on the side over the years, networking, information security consulting, etc. In most cases since I had a full-time salaried job, it was simply time away from my family and not enough $ to justify it. Now that my daughter is getting older though, that paragraph above is starting to make consulting look enticing! (Especially since my daugther gets complete medical insurance from her father - he's retired military):o)
