There's an example in the Help under the Resize event topic specifically for keeping an object square. You have to write your own resize event handler.

It is not me that I want to prevent from modifying the proportions, it is other devlopers that I am designing a custom control for that I don't want to modify the proportions of their object at both design and run time. I designed a control that I want to be square and I don't want somebody else to change it to rectangular.
