Hi Kevin. Thanks for the response. We're actually using MM and interfacing to a legacy AS400 app through web services, rather than using a database as our back end.

The reason we can't validate using the mmBusinessRule object before calling SaveDataSet is that the legacy app performs some back-end transactions and does it's own validation. We would like to bring back the responses, display them to the user, and prevent the business object from actually being saved on a row-by-row basis.

Our app is just replacing a green-screen front end, so duplicating the business logic on the client side would be too complicated, and we'd have to keep both systems in sync, so it's really not an option for us.

How would you best suggest we implement this type of back end with Mere Mortals?

Thanks again!

Jeff
