It may have been the Crawling Hand or just the Hand. I can't remember now. I do remember that it was the hand of an astronaut that went around killing people. I would probably laugh at it and consider it a b movie now but at 10 it was terrifying. I saw it on Freddie's Inferno (or was it Ferdie's Inferno?) which was a twilight zone theatre late at night out of Chicago. All the kids were watching it in the late 60s/early 70s. The main character had a hand in a box that assisted him in presenting the black and white sci fi movies. Hilarious now that I think of it!

Update: It was Ferdie's Inferno! And it was from Madison, WI (40 miles away from where I was in Portage, WI) Here it is! :o)

>The Hand... Was that Vincent Price and the chopped-off hand takes a pair of scissors and stabs someone in the back? If so, I saw that when I was about 10 or so and had dreams for years about it. Never saw The Bad Seed. I'll have to find it now.

>>The scariest movies I have ever seen are old movies: The Bad Seed and The hand. Ooooohhhh, gives me the creeps just thinking about them. The little girl in the movie the Bad Seed was hell on earth.

>>>Just saw The Grudge too. The girl coming down the stairs was just plain chilling. In fact, the whole scene about the sister in her office and then at her apartment was incredibly well done. Had me looking under the blanket once or twice that night. I've heard about a Korean movie called "The Eye" but haven't been able to find it. Sounded pretty creepy.

>>>>Secret Window was terrific. I loved the suspense and the little turns the movie took. The weirdest movie I've seen in sometime though has got to be the Grudge. That was just plain spooky.

>>>>>Well, I guess I may have ruined it for you if you do see it, though, I'm not sure that's really possible. Liked Blade III - it's much like the others - was going to watch Hitchhiker this weekend also, and Alexander didn't get great reviews, I thought, so I've been passing on it. Just saw Secret Window recently, and like that a lot. Some people I know didn't care for it, but I enjoyed it.

>>>>>>Believe it or not, I have not seen Eyes Wide Shut yet. It got such bad reviews and no one I know enjoyed it much so I haven't bothered. I'm watching Blade 3, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, and Alexander on DVD this weekend.

>>>>>>>Ok, at least it wasn't just me being thick. No way you liked Eyes Wide Shut then, right? I kept waiting for him to find the "mystery" that permeated throughout the movie, only to end on nothing with Kidman yelling, "Let's ****!" Liked it right up until it ended. Kubrick died before he finished filming, and it ended like he did.
>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>It left it suggesting that either possibility could have happened. I hated the ending to that movie.

>>>>>>>>>Want to make sure I understand the ending of this one. The kid read all the letters and from that he knew all the things about Anna and Sean. So, did he just believe he was Sean from reading the letters and being somewhat nutty, or was he really Sean and was trying to let Anna down easy because he knew he had cheated on her. What was with the scene at the end where she is so distraught at the beach? Was she just overwhelmed with everything that had just happened from the kid bringing all her raw feelings for Sean back up front?
>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>I hate when movies try to make me figure out what happened at the end. Eyes Wide Shut absolutely sucked that way because of the ending.
