I know its been a while since you responded to this post, but the timer issue is still a problem. I don't think it is in the app itself because some machines don't seem to have a problem. Could it be a heavy load on the processer that would just stop listening to the timer? Right now I am monitoring 57 machines and they are all firing the timer okay. One of these stoped a little while ago. I remoted to it, clicked an option button to open another form and the timer started firing again. Something else I have noticed. It seems to be all the timers are stopping.
