Thanks for the hint.. I have the sulution now :

SET SYSFORMATS ON
SET DATE TO GERMAN &&OR ANY OTHER DEFINED DATE FORM exept : LONG,SHORT

If you do it this way... you don't get the DATE SYNTAX ERROR anymore

?date(1600,1,1) &&Produces an Error, bug in VFP8 when Dateformat is SHORT,LONG
