My apps print report with page x of yy. I use the method where I first send the report to a file to get the _pageno. This is fine until one of my client who is using some kind of print tracking software that track print jobs. Whenever the report is printed this tracking software will capture twice for one printing.
I have tried using "Report Form xxx.rpt Noconsole" to get the _pageno but this is unreliable (_pageno not always return the correct number of pages).
Google helped me to track down one article from hentzenwerke.com that say you should use "Report Form xxx.rpt Noconsole to Nul" in order to get the correct _pageno value. This seem to work on Win98 machines but when tested on Winxp machines it seem that there is a printjob being to the printer queue. I have tried adding a Nul port to the printer and it still send the printjob to the printer. I thought sending any print job to Nul will just 'disappear'.
