>Had the course title mentioned FoxPro, you wouldn't have seen them there either. John Petersen had an excellent session on moving FoxPro legacy apps to the web and there were 24 people who showed up - out of 9000 attendees. I told Robert Green and the Fox team I thought the "stealth" sessions would have many more and they would get an eyeful. I must be a prophet. Ken blew them away (150-200 attendees)and George Goley did the same when he demonstrated "building the best database apps for the web." George told the crowd of around 75 (last session of a long week) about an app MEI wrote for MS to track the 21 million hits a day the get. He said after shaking the data, it was dealing with over 375 million rows and he chose Fox because of speed. As if on cue, one of the VB guys said "why didn't you just put it into SQL Server?" George's reply, too slow. It takes over ten minutes to run in SQL Server and about 10 seconds in Fox. He got a big laugh when he said just for fun he tried
>to import the monster table into an MDB. He made a strong case for using Fox for the middle tier for speed and I noticed many people taking plenty of notes.
