Hi Walter

>>Well I've driven on Dutch motorways and was surprised at some of the dangerous practices that you don't get here, e.g. you're in the outside, overtaking lane, rapidly approaching a car in the middle lane and about to pass him. He suddenly decides he wants to pass the guy in front of him so whips out into your lane, right in front of you. From my experience this is typical of the whole continent, esp. ITALY. I think we have some of the safest roads in Europe at least (if over congested).

>Everyone makes mistakes in traffic, including me, but I don't think the practise you describe is very common over here. However, I agree our highways tend to be very crowded.

Well it's several years since I last drove in Holland but I experienced this a lot on the Motorway. Similarly in France this year.

>
>>I've said this before but I much prefer to have my right, skilful, strong arm controlling the car, and my left automaton arm doing the simple gear changing, etc.

>Well, I'm left handed :)

Well we shouldn't cater for you freaks! :-)

>>Having driven on the RHS in many countries, I find it takes but 15 mins to become accustomed to and comfortable with the inversion, even in my own RH drive car. The human brain is amazingly flip-floppable :-)

>Except when you're tired and drive in the dark. My passenger had to remind me several times to drive on the left. Ouch this is something I never will do again..

>Walter,
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
