Thanks for the code. It seems I was getting this error because I was trying to access a table in the Northwind sample database called "Order Detail". M.Mortals says that if you have a space in the table name you have to build a custom data adapter to handle this. There is a known bug in the VS2003 Data Adpater Wizard. Since the real application I am writing does not use any special characters in the table names, I am going to re-do the M.Mortals jump start excerise using my real application tables instead of the sample tables. I should not need to create any custom classees so I will see how that goes.
