Hi Tore,
You don't hv to worry about me or people like me, we will all upgrade
eventually. I will do it by the end of the year.
But I don't think revenue from VFP sales/upgrades itself is real driving force or motiv in MS keeping up VFP as it is now.
VFP in all of it's versions keeps LION share of small>mid size
database & business solution market. And that market is huge.
That is the fact that kills and keeps VFP alive in the same time.
If they kill it, some other xbase tool will emerge and grab that market.
If they improve it to much then who will need expensive stuff like MS-SQL
At the end, who wld need Windows/Office all together if something
like VFP comes arround under (free or way cheaper) Linux umbrella.
This way, in meny cases, good VFP system keeps entire company under windows umbrella.
So for me, what we hv to do foremost is - build and deploy more and more great VFP applications being essential to our/our client businesses, and VFP will be arround for a LONG LONG time.
Cheers :)
