Hi alex,

>I guess I'm quite a racist because I believe that blacks are better basket-ball players, or heard anecdotal evidence that they make excellent ice skaters, or are better rap singers (for the record, I can't stand rap music). Of course, God forbid that I should ever say that their math abilities are lacking or some such terrible remark.

Beeing dutch who have had a patent on producing top class ice skaters for the last 15 years, I can only name 1 black world champion ice skater who and one latino olympian champion. The rest is still white.

>Blacks are succeptible to certain diseases that whites have no problems with, same with some jews of european ancestry.

>Go back 400 years: native americans (indiands) made poor slaves, while blacks were extraordinarily suited for hard labor.

>I firmly believe that there are certain innate abilities that are inherited, just like skin color, hairy legs, and ear shape. Neither of it is bad nor good. It's just there. Not talking about it because someone might get offended is a rather sad state of affairs.

>Bennet's only mistake, imo, was that he said something that would lead a lot of people to crucify him based on out-of-context characterization of what he said.

I fully agree with your statements. Much of it comes down to irrational sensitivity. Blacks are good at some type of sports. They have different physical characteristicts in quite a few aspects. That does not mean we cannot talk about it. We in Holland have some social problems where some ethnical groups have a lot of problems to find jobs and often end up in criminality. Is this something we cannot speak out? If, not, how the hell do we identify and address the problem then?

In holland we have experienced major problems the last decade because no politician wanted to address the problems, afraid of beeing called a racist. With Pim fortuin, who was not affraid to speak up, the political arena changed, so we finnally are beginning to address the problems.

Walter,
